Foul 50 - A Novel

I have an idea for a new novel. My first original one.

During a freak explosion, young high school quarterback, Brandon Lowry, loses an essential limb, forcing him to give up his dreams of a football career; however, he isn't ready to let go. Brandon determines to find the cause of the accident and take revenge on whoever was behind it. Along the way he is joined by a young detective, Callie Martin, whose brother was killed in the same explosion.

Brandon is pretty popular, funny, but doesn't always get the best grades. He's great at football. After the accident, he becomes bitter, selfish, and difficult.

Brandon's older brother James is a trouble maker. He consistently relies on Brandon to get him out of his scrapes. He's supposed to be attending the State University.

With a sunny personality in all circumstances, Callie is a stark contrast to Brandon's darker personality. Callie has a huge imagination which often gets the better of her. She loves reading mysteries (especially Nancy Drew) and likes to pretend she's a detective.

Callie's brother Conner plays football with Brandon. He's quiet and isn't the best player on the team. Brandon is often annoyed by him, blaming Conner when plays don't work out.

Another boy on the team, Carter keeps his thoughts to himself but is always ready to joke. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially his little brother who is nearly his shadow. He loses his eyesight because of the explosion, but quietly accepts the change.

Jason, Carter's little brother, enjoys rooting for the team. He's cheerful, talks fast, and seems older than he actually is. After the explosion takes his brother's eyesight, Jason is even more loyal.

Pal is Carter's energetic, border collie, service dog, given to him after the accident.
